During committee hearings for the proposed North-South Pipeline in April 2008 consultants for the Pipeline Alliance announced that the Round leaf Pomaderris – Pomaderris vacciniifolia had been found on the pipe’s route in Castella. When HEWI representatives heard that the plant was not protected under any legislation an application for listing under the State’s Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act was prepared, using material compiled by David Cameron.

The Round leaf Pomaderris – Pomaderris vacciniifolia application was successful and the listing as a threatened species was gazetted in February 2009, in the Victorian Government Gazette - page 429 .
